Sudan sentences RSF chief Hemedti to death: Who’s he, what’s he accused of?

A Sudanese court sentenced Rapid Support Forces (RSF) leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, to death for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in West Darfur. Fifteen other senior RSF figures were also sentenced to death. Hemedti was tried in absentia, and the RSF has denied the allegations. The civil war between the army and the RSF began in April 2023, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis.

The Oyo State APC accused Governor Seyi Makinde of multiple scandals and demanded he submit to investigation, in response to his call for UN intervention over the abduction of students and teachers. The APC listed alleged diversion of local government funds, killings in Igangan, a N7.7 billion surveillance aircraft deal, a fire-fighting truck scam, a N50 billion Bodija explosion relief fund, and the Agbowo Shopping Complex contract. Makinde had called on the UN to investigate the May abduction, whose victims were rescued on Friday.

Moment police interrogate alleged fake PFIPC DG, Adeniyi Adeyemi [VIDEO]

A video has emerged showing the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). He was arrested following a warrant issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja for failing to appear for his arraignment on eight counts of forgery, fraud, and impersonation. Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore described the arrest as the biggest cover-up ever and called for an investigation into Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, alleging obstruction of justice.
