Suspension of university activities in the area controlled by AFC-M23

The Congolese government has suspended academic and para-academic activities for the 2026-2027 academic year in 11 higher education institutions in Goma and Bukavu due to security concerns. This decision, justified by the need to protect students and staff, includes registrations, teachings, and evaluations. An exemption is provided for final-year students of the 2025-2026 academic year. The suspension follows initiatives taken by AFC/M23 in the affected institutions.
