Sweden ends development aid for several African countries

Sweden has ended its bilateral development aid programs for several African countries, including Liberia, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, due to new security challenges. This decision, announced on August 31, includes the closure of Swedish embassies in Monrovia and Harare, which will cease operations in October. Sweden also mentioned reallocating its budget towards aid for Ukraine and increasing its defense budget.
