Swiss Football Association withdraws support for FIFA boss Gianni Infantino

The Swiss Football Association (SFV) announced it is withdrawing support for Gianni Infantino in the 2027 FIFA presidential election. This decision follows several European national associations also withdrawing their backing after Infantino proposed in July to sell stakes of FIFA competitions, including the World Cup, to private investors. The SFV stated that its executive board, meeting on Friday, decided to withdraw support due to unresolved questions about FIFA’s transparency, accountability, and decision-making processes.
