Syria and Lebanon make ‘significant progress’ at talks on joint interests

The leaders of Lebanon and Syria concluded talks in Damascus focused on joint interests following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam stated that significant progress was made regarding security, transport, infrastructure, and economic issues. The discussions also addressed the release of Syrian prisoners held in Lebanon, with over 2,000 Syrians currently detained. Salam emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
