Syrian court sentences three linked to coastal violence

A military court in Aleppo sentenced two supporters of the ousted government to death and life imprisonment, while a former member of government forces received a 20-year prison sentence. These verdicts are the first in a judicial process launched last November, involving 14 people accused of mass killings. The violence, which occurred in March, resulted in the deaths of hundreds from the Alawite religious minority.
