EPL: Carrick drops Bruno Fernandes for Man Utd vs Bournemouth

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has left captain Bruno Fernandes out of the starting XI for the match against Bournemouth, with The Athletic reporting that the midfielder will begin on the bench. The decision comes a week after Fernandes criticised Carrick’s tactics following United’s 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, questioning why the team had not been allowed to press the Serie A side. The result marked United’s seventh game without a win and prompted Carrick to apologise to supporters. Carrick has benched the 32-year-old as he tries to improve the team’s form.
