France: A Cameroonian student drowns in Lake Annecy

A 25-year-old Cameroonian student, identified as Wendji Vades, drowned in Lake Annecy near the Brune beach in Veyrier-du-Lac. Emergency services were alerted at 3:49 PM and found the victim about 30 meters from the shore, outside the monitored swimming area. Despite resuscitation efforts, his death was confirmed on-site. His family is seeking financial support to repatriate his body to Cameroon.
