Côte d’Ivoire: UNFPA provides Bounkani and Tchologo with two mobile reproductive health clinics

On November 3, 2026, UNFPA provided the Bounkani and Tchologo regions with two mobile reproductive health clinics at a ceremony held at the NPSP-CI headquarters in Abidjan-Treichville. Valued at a total of 110 million CFA francs, the vehicles are intended to bring care closer to isolated communities in northern Côte d’Ivoire, including populations affected by refugee movements. They will improve access to sexual and reproductive health services, family planning and maternal care. UNFPA Executive Director Diene Keita said the donation is part of the 2026–2030 Côte d’Ivoire–UNFPA cooperation programme, funded with 75 million dollars.

The trial is led by the DRC’s National Institute of Biomedical Research with international partners. Preliminary safety and immunogenicity findings are encouraging, but efficacy still needs to be confirmed; Africa CDC reports 10,444 confirmed cases and more than 5,300 deaths.
