Burkina Faso signs three agreements with Benin, Ghana, and Togo for the return of refugees

Burkina Faso, Benin, Ghana, and Togo signed three agreements to facilitate the voluntary repatriation of Burkinabè refugees during the second ministerial meeting of the Lomé Dialogue, held from September 9 to 11, 2026. According to UNHCR, the West and Central region had 13.4 million displaced persons, including 2.1 million refugees. Mali and Niger participated as observers, highlighting the interconnectedness of migration issues in the region.
