The African Union launches its own rating agency [Business Africa]

The African Union has launched the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) to improve sovereign ratings for African countries, which are often poorly assessed. Dr. Misheck Mutize, an advisor to the AU, played a key role in the establishment of this agency. Current ratings contribute to high borrowing costs for African states, limiting their access to international capital markets.
