Talanta Stadium Gets New Transport Link as Kenya Railways Expands Network

Kenya Railways is building a new railway connection linking Nairobi Central Station to Talanta Sports City via Nyayo Stadium, upgrading 13.3 km of existing tracks and constructing a 1.3 km second line between Kibera and Satellite. Two new commuter stations are being built at Talanta Stadium and Laini Saba, with pedestrian overpasses and underpasses at Kibera, Laini Saba, Gatwekera, and Kambi Muru to improve access. The project aims to enhance transportation for major sporting and entertainment events, easing traffic congestion in Nairobi, especially ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, and strengthening the city's urban transit network.
