Tanganyika: the MJP shipwreck off Kabimba leaves 41 missing

A vessel operated by MJP, traveling from Kigoma in Tanzania to Kalemie in Tanganyika, sank on September 23 off Kabimba. The official report states 41 people are missing and 43 survived out of 84 passengers. Overloading, with more than 480 tons of goods and four vehicles onboard, is suspected as the cause, despite weather conditions being reportedly calm. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the missing persons.
