Tanks and security forces deployed at Abuja City Gate ahead of Obi-Kwankwaso march

Military tanks and security personnel were deployed at Abuja City Gate ahead of a planned march by supporters of Nigeria Democratic Congress candidates Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso. Operatives set up barricades and conducted stop-and-search operations early in the morning. The deployment included the police, army, Civilian Joint Task Force, Department of State Services and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The area was cordoned off as a precaution against disorder during the march, which supporters announced to demand good governance.
