Tanzania closes one of the last two Burundian refugee camps

Tanzania has closed the Nduta refugee camp, forcibly repatriating its occupants to Burundi. The UN confirmed that this camp, which housed only a few thousand people, was closed following an agreement between Tanzania and Burundi to repatriate around 100,000 refugees by June. According to the NGO CDH/VICAR, coercive measures have been implemented, leading to the expulsion of refugees and a deterioration of the situation in the camps.
