Tanzania fuel prices surge by more than 50 percent in a year

Fuel prices in Tanzania have risen by as much as 53 percent in a year, adding economic pressure on transport operators, businesses and households. Prices published by the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) show diesel up 51 to 53 percent since November 2025 in Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Mtwara. Petrol and kerosene prices have climbed by about 47 to 48 percent, increasing living and business costs.
