Taraba boat mishap: Councillor calls for safer water transportation

The councillor representing Kpambo Puri Ward in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State, Rimamshong Shamaki Kwefya, has appealed to the state government and Ussa local government to provide a boat and outboard engine to improve transportation across Fikyu River. The appeal follows a boat accident on September 27, 2026, that resulted in the deaths of two residents. Kwefya emphasized that the lack of adequate transportation poses serious risks to residents and urged urgent government action to prevent further tragedies.
