Teenage girl rescued from lynch mob after toddler dies in well, police say

Nigerian police rescued 17-year-old Ummi Saad from a mob that tried to lynch and burn her after she allegedly threw 3-year-old Abdulrazak Aminu into a well in Shuwa, Adamawa State. Officers pulled the child from the well and took him to the hospital in Madagali, at Gulak, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the incident happened over the weekend and that the teenager was reportedly mentally unstable. Authorities said calm has been restored in the village.
