Teens who died when car entered River Wear named

Two teenage boys, Jackson Duke (17) and Luke Etheridge (16), from Sunderland, along with Zara Shaw (16) from Houghton-le-Spring, died when their black Audi A3 left the road near Wearmouth Bridge in Sunderland and entered the River Wear. A 17-year-old boy who escaped was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Police divers recovered the vehicle from the water, and investigations are ongoing. Sunderland College expressed deep sadness over the loss of three of their students.
