Telecoms: Canadian group NuRAN plans to use Starlink for rural sites in Cameroon after a test in Nigeria

NuRAN Wireless plans to use Starlink to connect some of its rural telecom sites in Cameroon. The project depends on the results of a test in Nigeria with Infratel, assessing performance, reliability, integration, and cost of Starlink as a backhaul solution. If successful, NuRAN intends to replicate this in the DRC, Ivory Coast, Benin, and Cameroon, subject to legal availability of Starlink in Cameroon. No direct contract has been signed with Starlink or SpaceX for this operation.
