Terrorism: FG secures 653 convictions, prosecutes 1,060 suspects

Nigeria’s federal government secured 653 convictions among the 1,060 people prosecuted in the third phase of the mass trial of terrorism suspects. Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi said the court had heard 880 cases, resulting in seven acquittals and 27 defendants being discharged as well. He praised cooperation among the judges, lawyers and security agencies, and said rehabilitation and reintegration were important complements to the judicial process.
