The Abidjan Cardiology Institute Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence and Prepares for Future Challenges

The Abidjan Cardiology Institute (ICA) celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 29, 2026, with a ceremony attended by Health Minister Pierre Dimba on World Heart Day. Established in 1977 and inaugurated by Félix Houphouët-Boigny, ICA has become a leading cardiology center in Ivory Coast and West Africa, training over 250 cardiologists. The minister highlighted ongoing technical upgrades, including new diagnostic equipment like a scanner and cardiac MRI, as part of efforts to modernize and position Ivory Coast as a regional health hub.
