The Assembly adopts an agricultural reform to boost local transformation of strategic products

The Environment, Tourism, Natural Resources, and Sustainable Development Commission of the National Assembly adopted a bill on April 9 to revise the agricultural sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Led by Deputy Marie-Claire Kengo, this reform introduces the concept of 'strategic agricultural products' such as maize and cassava, aiming to direct investments towards promising value chains. The goal is to promote local transformation, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen food security.
