The discovery of many dead fish in a river raises concerns in Lubumbashi

Several dead fish, including catfish, have been found on the surface of the Lubumbashi River in the Mampala neighborhood. Municipal councilors visited the site to assess the situation, while the Lubumbashi Tailings Treatment Company (STL) denied any link between its mining activities and the fish mortality. No independent analysis has yet been conducted to determine the cause of this phenomenon.
