The Democratic Republic of Congo's Ministry of Health reports a generally favorable trend in the Ebola outbreak, with decreases in new cases, deaths, positivity rate, and reproduction rate. As of September 22, 2026, contact follow-up reached 78.3% across 55 health zones, with seven zones surpassing 42 days without new cases. Ituri remains the epicenter, North Kivu is the second active focus, and Sud-Ubangi, now the seventh affected province, recorded a second case. Response efforts include testing, diagnosis, patient care, contact tracing, and surveillance, with increased focus on Sud-Ubangi due to its border location.
