The electricity law has hindered the development of new power plants (SNEL)

During a plenary session in the National Assembly, Deputy Jethro Muyombi questioned the National Electricity Company (SNEL) about recurring power outages in the DRC. SNEL's General Director, Teddy Lwamba, attributed these issues to increased demand, particularly in the mining sector, and highlighted that certain provisions of the electricity law hinder the development of new power plants. He also noted that the revision of this law does not provide significant solutions to attract private investors.
