The escalation in Yemen is a turning point | Houthis | Al Jazeera

A major military escalation is taking place in Yemen, focusing on the western coast and the Bab al-Mandeb strait. Forces loyal to the internationally recognized Yemeni government launched Operation Yemen’s Dawn, advancing towards the strait and fighting reinforced Houthi positions in Dhubab District and around Dhubab Airport. The conflict centers on controlling this strategic area vital for global trade and maritime traffic, though control of the coast alone does not ensure the security of the strait or eliminate navigation threats. The key question is whether these military actions will lead to a lasting shift in power or pave the way for negotiations.
