The European Union reaffirms its support for judicial reform in DRC

The European Union, represented by Douglas Carpenter, expressed its willingness to support the DRC in implementing priority judicial reforms during a meeting with Justice Minister Guillaume Ngefa in Kinshasa on September 24, 2026. Discussions focused on operationalizing the Economic and Financial Criminal Court, prison infrastructure, digital transformation of justice, as well as strengthening anti-corruption efforts and the notary profession. The EU also indicated its readiness to facilitate funding and continue dialogue on international justice, impunity, human rights, and the digital space.
