The French Foreign Minister's Visit to DRC: A Trip with Diplomatic, Humanitarian, and Health Dimensions

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot is visiting the DRC on October 2-3, 2026, following a previous brief visit after the AFC/M23 rebellion, supported by Rwanda, occupied Goma. He will go to Bunia in Ituri to observe the ongoing Ebola outbreak, becoming the first European minister to visit the region since the epidemic began. The trip aims to strengthen France-RDC relations and comes ahead of the seventh national humanitarian conference in Paris, organized by the French foreign ministry.
