The Governor of the Central Bank of the Congo defends his record

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Congo, André Wameso, defended his record of his first year in office. He discussed the appreciation of the Congolese franc, the dollarization of the economy, and the foreign exchange reserves. According to him, the depreciation of the franc should be questioned with the same rigor as the current appreciation. The Central Bank can intervene in both directions on the foreign exchange market.
