The hospitality sector in Côte d'Ivoire professionalizes with the birth of PACI

The Patronat de l’Accueil en Côte d’Ivoire (PACI) was launched on April 25, 2026, to structure a sector dominated by the informal economy. President Kankou Samaké emphasized the importance of professionalizing hospitality jobs, which represent a significant part of the tourism sector generating over 1.1 trillion FCFA. PACI aims to clean up the sector by imposing access conditions based on educational qualifications and certified training, while also improving working conditions for hostesses.
