The Olympic flame arrives in Senegal just days before the 2026 YOG

The Olympic flame arrived in Dakar on Saturday, welcomed by a hundred people in a festive atmosphere. This event marks the approach of the first Youth Olympic Games held in Africa, taking place from October 31 to November 13. The flame was carried by Senegalese women known as 'lingeer', symbolizing the transmission of values between generations. Gacirah Diagne, one of the torchbearers, stated that these Games will inspire youth across Africa.
