The price of gasoline rises from 1.5 to 2.4 USD in Kisangani

The price of gasoline per liter in Kisangani has risen from 3,700 to 5,500 Congolese francs (2.4 USD) in a few weeks, leading to increased transportation costs. Motorcycle taxi drivers justify this increase by the high cost of supply, exacerbated by global geopolitical tensions. The Federation of Enterprises of Congo stated that the current price is a compromise to preserve consumers' purchasing power, while the actual price should be around 6,500 francs (2.8 USD).
