The real Sundowns stepped up as they conquered Pirates to claim MTN8 glory

On October 12, 2026, Mamelodi Sundowns won the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium with a 2-0 victory. Sundowns' supporters, who hadn't won this trophy in five years, celebrated their win against a Pirates team that had won the competition four times in a row, totaling seven trophies in four seasons. Coach Miguel Cardoso paid tribute to the late Jayden Adams during the celebration, emphasizing Sundowns' success.
