The tripartite RDC-UNHCR-Tanzania emphasizes the voluntary return of Congolese refugees

A total of 87,650 Congolese refugees live in the Nyarugusu camp in Tanzania. The tripartite commission RDC-Tanzania-UNHCR has decided to organize the voluntary repatriation of refugees based on available resources, ensuring that these returns occur without pressure. However, UNHCR Deputy Representative Patrick Kirya emphasized that returns to certain regions in Eastern DRC remain impossible due to insecurity.
