The United States sanctions two French nationals accused of funding Hamas

On Friday, U.S. authorities sanctioned Faouzi Barika and Amel Oualid, accused of raising over two million dollars for Hamas through humanitarian operations and transferring the funds to a Palestinian Islamist movement leader. Barika, from the association Baraka, and Oualid, from the organization « Ensemble C’est Mieux », were placed on the blacklist for their involvement in this funding scheme. The sanctions are part of efforts to combat Hamas financing by French individuals.
