The US is gobbling up Venezuelan oil, but will it lower fuel prices?

On August 28, US President Donald Trump announced a deal with Venezuela that would give the US control of over 65 billion barrels of Venezuela's proven oil reserves. Although this deal is touted as a solution to lower fuel prices, analysts warn it will not reduce crude prices in the near term. The private partnership will be established with North American Blue Energy Partners, led by Alejandro Betancourt, a former ally of Hugo Chavez.
