Theft of over 200 km of SNCC electrical cables reported in Luena

The Luena civil society group denounces the theft of over 200 kilometers of copper cables used for train power supply by SNCC, mainly on the Tenke-Lubudi and Mukulakulu-Kamina routes. Two individuals were arrested on September 27 in Mukulakulu while transporting high-voltage cables of 2,600 volts. The local civil society describes this as organized mafia trafficking and calls for government intervention to stop these recurrent acts of sabotage, also requesting for open court hearings to prosecute those responsible.
