There’s no such thing as ‘first fruit money,’ Pastor Abel Damina tells Christians

Abel Damina, senior pastor of Power City International, criticised clerics who ask congregants to give money as “seed” or “first fruit” offerings. In a recent episode of the WHOT podcast, he said financial giving cannot move God and Christians should instead express gratitude through praise and worship. Damina said “first fruit money,” often collected in January, has no basis, explaining that in the New Testament the first fruit is Jesus and that the concept pointed to Jesus in the Old Testament.
