Thiès: One dead and two rescued after construction-site building collapses

A five-storey building under construction collapsed completely on Tuesday morning in the Sud Stade neighborhood of Thiès, killing one person and leaving two survivors. The alert was raised at 9:35 a.m., and rescuers pulled the two men alive after about three hours; a third victim was found dead. A total of 60 soldiers and firefighters, ten response vehicles and pieces of equipment, and specialist reinforcements from Dakar took part in the operation. Search efforts are continuing to check for anyone else beneath the rubble, and the cause of the collapse has not yet been determined.
