Thousands protest in Croatia to demand government clean up toxic waste

Tens of thousands of protesters marched in Zagreb demanding the government urgently clean up a vast illegal dump of hazardous waste in the Lika region. Protesters are frustrated with authorities' inaction regarding over 30,000 tonnes of waste, including medical and industrial materials, buried near Gospic.
