A judge in Ensenada, in Mexico’s Baja California state, sentenced Jesus Gerardo Garcia, known as “El Kekas”, Irineo Francisco “N” and Angel Jesus “N” to 158 years and nine months in prison each on Friday. They were convicted of murdering Australian brothers Callum and Jake Robinson, aged 33 and 30, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, during a surf trip in 2024. The sentences also cover violent robbery and vehicle theft with violence. Antonio Otanez, head of Baja California’s surfers’ association, welcomed the verdict and said the killings had caused a major drop in tourist visits to the region.
