Three paintings were stolen from the Renoir Museum in Cagnes-sur-Mer during an early morning burglary on September 8, 2026. Two thieves broke into the museum before 6 AM and took four artworks, one of which was abandoned as they fled. Mayor Bryan Masson estimated the value of the stolen works at 9 million euros. The investigation is being led by France's Sub-Directorate for Combating Organised Crime and Specialised Delinquency.
