Tinubu Approves Ibom Deep Seaport Project in Akwa Ibom State

President Bola Tinubu approved the Ibom Deep Seaport project after Governor Umo Eno requested it at a rally in Uyo on Friday. Eno pledged two million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 election if the federal government delivers the project, which he said could create jobs and boost trade and the regional economy. First conceived decades ago as the Ibaka Deep Seaport and Industrial City, the project had remained unrealised despite previous promises, including one made by Tinubu in 2023.
