Tinubu fulfils pledge as Super Falcons receive $100,000 each

Nigeria’s federal government has paid Super Falcons players the naira equivalent of $100,000 each following their victory at the 2025 WAFCON. Coaches and officials received the equivalent of $50,000 each, completing President Bola Tinubu’s promised package, which also included the OON national honour and three-bedroom apartments. National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko praised the fulfilment of the pledge, saying it would encourage athletes, particularly girls aspiring to pursue sports careers. He also cited rewards delivered to D’Tigress and the Super Eagles after their achievements.
