Tinubu government using intimidation to weaken opposition, ADC says

The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of intimidating and suppressing opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. It cited reported attacks on its members in Kaduna, the alleged assault on its Sokoto governorship candidate Munir Dan Iya, the demolition of its campaign office in Kebbi State, and the denial of a campaign venue to Nigeria Democratic Congress candidate Peter Obi in Enugu State. The council also condemned the continued detention of ADC Vice Chairman and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and alleged that inducements were being offered to weaken opposition parties. It urged Nigerians to defend their right to participate freely in the democratic process.
