Tinubu Is Taking God's Name in Vain, Atiku Aide Says of Makkah Trip

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, alleges that Bola Tinubu’s planned trip to Makkah is linked to the president’s failing health. Tinubu is expected to leave Abuja on Thursday to perform Umrah, and the Presidency says he will pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and progress. Okonkwo criticized that explanation, saying Tinubu is taking God’s name in vain by praying for the country when he cannot pray for himself. He added that people would find it harder to pray for the president if he continues to conceal the reasons for his absences from Nigeria.
