Tinubu kicks off $100 million Southeast gas pipeline project

Nigeria’s federal government, through the South East Development Commission, has launched a 400-kilometre gas distribution pipeline project valued at $100 million. The network is intended to connect gas resources to industrial and commercial centres in Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Abia and Ebonyi; about 150 potential customers have been identified, with projected demand of 254 million standard cubic feet per day. Representing President Tinubu at the agreement signing in Enugu, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu said the project would support manufacturers and attract new industries and investment. Tinubu described the pipeline as a foundation for regional economic integration and industrial development across the Southeast.
