Tinubu: Why Akpabio rejected acting President role – Rufai Oseni

Rufai Oseni, host of Arise Television Morning Show, explained that Senate President Godswill Akpabio refused to be addressed as Nigeria’s acting president while President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima were abroad. Oseni argued that Akpabio's insistence on not claiming the acting presidency showed his reluctance to assert the powers of the National Assembly as a co-equal branch of government, especially after the legislature supported a state of emergency in Rivers State. He criticized Akpabio for trying to exonerate himself from leadership responsibilities and questioned whether the legislature could effectively challenge the executive.
