Tinubu: Yari sets 2.3 million-vote target for APC in Rivers

At an APC campaign rally in Port Harcourt, Abdulaziz Yari, director general of the party’s presidential campaign council, set a target of 2.3 million votes for Bola Tinubu in Rivers State in the January 16 election. He said the goal was achievable, citing 3.3 million registered voters and about 2.8 million collected voter cards, and said the party expected Rivers to deliver at least 80 percent for Tinubu. Godswill Akpabio said Rivers was the only state in the South-South that Tinubu won convincingly in 2023, while Nentawe Yilwatda called the Tinubu-Shettima ticket Nigeria’s best option. Magnus Abe defended the Rainbow Coalition, saying its main objective was to return the president to power.

He proposed a transparent, production-based subsidy tied to local refining, alongside social welfare measures for economically vulnerable Nigerians.
